I carry secrets...

I carry secrets:
whispered messages
from distant flaxen shores
ebbing in faint aqua tides
turned and retold
in watery grooves of sand
Energy connecting waves
sing verses of the sea,
nourishing my poor soul,
returning you to me
and me to you
 In ocean's lulling foam
beneath beaming rays of sun
 laurels float about my head..
brackish marine life
clings to my nakedness
my feet become the stern
Life moving in
and out of me
turning me inside out
willing I am to be
prodigious vessel
patroness
empirical link to
the cosmos'
natural harmony

  1. Ah, yes, I am sure the shell carries many secrets. It has had quite a journey before it comes to rest. And it is not likely to share.

  8. fascinating love poem to what is more than a shell! [I'm around, just busy on another blog]
PS - what are the ".." on the ends of various lines -- I don't see a pattern, and for me, they were distracting for an otherwise fantastic [tidal] flow.

  11. ...returning me to you...and you to me... --- ah, that shows how oneself is interconnected to the element... sea shells are always a mystic thing or creature...the silent listener to every conversations... the unnoticed guest to every moment... the faithful keeper of hidden memories... listen to it and you'll hear thousand voices speaking languages of nature.. you will def not understand but feel connected to each voices like you're listening to your own voice in a rather different city inside the shell... smiles... thank you katy for a lovely offering...

  15. Wonderful, what's inside can only be heard as faint echoes, like that inside a shell.

  19. I really enjoyed the flow and rhythm of the lines k. They seem to flow gently in and out, just like the ocean tides that the shell has known throughout its existence.
