Spring's effect on me...or 'giraffe nuzzles'..

Rain on my face saves me -
cucumber grass
cools my soles
 ..evening citrusy air
hangs
like lacy moss
on a myrtle tree
- angels walk among us
in everyday attire
Hearts bleed
for other hearts,
joints swell; bodies
writhe under
cascading water, rippling
along sullen earth
..turning my mind
to the great notion
........of flying
like a sparrow from
eaves to the sea
against sunset skies;
filling me up
with an obsessive desire
to receive
close up
giraffe's nuzzles,
wet baby kisses -
swim in cool
coconut milk, drink
lemon tea with bitters
and taste
the berries of summer...

  2. I love the way you begin this poem: " Rain on my face saves me." It is refreshing, isn't it? And cleansing as well, I find.

And I love thinking about the possibility of giraffe nuzzles and tasting the berries of summer. Summer cannot arrive soon enough. Smiles.

  14. This is so replete with wonderful sensory details that allow me to be a part of the scene. Our citrus trees are in bloom here in the California desert. Loving it. The bees are too.
