Medieval tale..?

She bakes a wild salmon souffle'

to astound her distinguished peer -
guest of all guests:  King Zabineer

   Troubadours serenade all day,

   dancers Petra and Electra
   portray their best kama sutra

Standing on their heads, little sway
blood rushes to their fair faces
while they stare at the King's laces

Serving the meal was her valet

wearing tights and plume d' egret
 - mixed greens with an oil Vinaigrette

   Crackers, caviar on the way,

   fresh raised snails munch on their own terms;
lest we forget compost with worms

   Festivities well underway

   locally grown cherries did flirt
with almonds in a crepe dessert

   And to the hostess's dismay,
the king made away with Petra
   madame's face:  quite the fenestra

Trying my hand at a form I picked up on one of our blogger's posts called The Constanza, which consists of five or more 3-line stanzas.  Each line has a set meter of eight syllables. The first lines of all the stanzas can be read successively as a poem.  The first lines convey a theme written in monorhyme, while the second and third lines of each stanza rhyme together. Rhyme scheme:   a/b/b, a/c/c, a/d/d, a/e/e, a/f/f………etc.  Those in the know please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong about this. dversepoets.com
