Handsome hands
encircled the cup -
then pushed back his
tweed hat,
revealing
thick salt and peppery
brows;
his sculpted lips
sipped coffee,
moistening his silver mustache -
when "fine lovemaking"
came to mind
His jaw tightened -
my body
flushed
creamy crimson
Our eyes locked,
conveying
"soul mate";
I knew I was going to
marry him
someday

ReplyDeleteWow, lovely first meeting ~ Some people are just lucky to find their soul mate ~
ReplyDeleteOK, I see this comment box now. It was way, way down the page. I left a comment somewhere else first. A very touching poem. How neat that you immediately knew that you would marry him so early after recognizing him as 'soulmate.'
ReplyDeleteSorry about the comment box being so low..tried to remedy it but couldn't...thanks, Mary.
DeleteWhat a mysterious wonderment this thing we call love...your poem captures a magical moment in life.
ReplyDeleteit is precious to find that soulmate... love that you both just knew...
ReplyDeletecouldn't find you comment, it is so far down in your post.
ReplyDeleteYou made it a real story in thise 55 words.
I tried to correct than but was unable to...thanks, Aprille
DeleteI think the fault is inside your link to Dverse: try to take that out of the post itself and start again. You may have pressed on the 'enter' button too long. In your source code it shows up as an awful lot of
Delete  which means 'and no back space', which is a new line.
..thanks, I will try that..so that is what causes that big margin space ....
DeleteWhat a lovely, romantic moment. :-) Staring into the eyes of your soulmate is pure magic.
ReplyDeleteAh! A lovely moment captured in your words. Well-penned. :-)
ReplyDelete-HA
Very sweet poem! It makes me wonder whether it is autobiographical.
ReplyDeleteActually happened but it didn't last due to twists of fate...I'll never forget the feeling..some might call it infatuation..mostly it is about how I expected it to happen,,,but to endure also..thanks, Gabriela
DeleteMoments like those are what make life so worth living.
ReplyDeleteLoved your poem, but just like Mary I never found your comment box. I think you managed to capture a life's story in 55 words... brilliant
ReplyDeleteThanks,
DeleteBjorn, I needed to hear that.sorry about the hidden comment box ;)
