What I Know to be True

Whatever I Know to be True

Chartreuse willows softly sway

    in my memories...
Summertime June's
    sunlit tapestries.

Shadows therein, hide
 life's harshest realities
 of inflicted pain.

Yet, straightforward oak's

   heart...
like a good Cabernet,
   offers comfort,
      absorbs sorrow via
   recycled rain.

Then it's true...when end

   meets beginning...
      I'm with you.

  2. I specially admire this part:

    the straightforward oak's heart
    offers comfort, absorbs
    and recycles our sorrow.

  3. I love the 'Chartreuse willows' (so much like the ones in our garden) and 'sunlit tapestries', Kathy. I much prefer shade and shadows to stark sunlight. I also love the idea of absorbing sorrow via recycled rain'.

  4. Sigh... this is incredible raw and poignant. Especially like; "Shadows therein, hide life's harshest realities of inflicted pain."

Most reassuring, Kathy! It cannot be any better than that!

  9. I seemed to have lost you once again but was looking at those sites I have looked at in the past and saw you there. I love your poetry and this poem as well.
