Quadrille #39 Blissfullness

dVersedversepoets.com

Blissfullness

Pale rainbow palette above,
face in sea's air,
raindrops sashay down upon my face.
A fledgling's feather falls against my cheek.
I drink the fine wine of blissful miracles;
nature sings love notes to my senses
From a rainstorm afar,
bells toll a concierto

Periwinkle skies

dversepoets.com
Victoria has asked us to write using the Lai form of poetry today, a nine line stanza or verse with the short 5 or 2 syllable lines. I expanded it to several more lines.
Image result for images periwinkle sky

Sayer,
With my hazel eyes
I see the sunrise

layers,
and I theorize
the Universe' size.

Sailors'
silken moons arise;
I romanticize,

players
immortalized in
periwinkle skies

Prayers,
stories of our lives,
hopes, dreams realized

Paler
stars found, a surprise
novas rhapsodize

Nature
mourns, decries the why's
of lost butterflies

The Mountain...

wonderland by anaeugenio
Sharing with Ana's Earth Wonders where the theme all month is Nature...

By zooming in on the space at the end of the cul de sac where I live I can see Mt. Rainier, barely.
Usually she is highlighted in pastel colors in morning or evening, but many a day there is a circle of clouds crowning her brow.  In this photo the sun is shining on her northeast side.  She comes out many times a day, no matter the weather unless it particularly is a dismal period.  Very few days go by when one doesn't see her from one angle or another at many intersections, hillsides, or while driving on the freeway.  It is amazing how many people have a personal view of her from their back yards or upstairs windows.  At times, she appears as clear as a bell, magnified and oh, so close; other times she seems much farther
away in the distance than she really is.

Everyone agrees she is beautiful in the
spring for her meadows of wildflowers, in autumn for her multicolored treeline, and for her
showy snow whiteness in winter, when her entire face if covered.  All year hikers traverse her.  Lately the earth has shaken beneath her as she is close to one of the major fault lines in Washington State, but she has been dormant for many, many years.

I feel privileged to have this peek at her from my mailbox, however the wires stringing across the photo take away from the scene.  Anyway, I decided to blend in the profile of  the famous Suquamish Indian,  Chief Sealth,  as his people believe mountains have spirits and he does look quite handsome looking over his kingdom from the sky, I think.  I left the sepia tones on purpose and added a little smoky blue texture.  Thousands of photos of Mt. Rainier abound so this will win no prize, but it's nice to
 have a peek-a boo view.Earth Wonders at Ana's Wonderland web-site...http://anasofiaeugenio.com/

Scavenger Hunt Sunday 3/18/12...

Today's words for the photo search for the week are vintage, word or quote, nature's own, people, and photographer's choice.  I spent a lot of time going over photo's that I took recently so I wouldn't have to delve into old stored photos.  I thought incorrectly that the challenge for the word 'quote' would be fun and easy, but it proved to be hard to produce, but the rest I had and are fairly representative of my tastes as well:

Vintage...old dark green drinking fountain in Balboa Park. San Diego..I had a lot of options for this one, but I like the setting and colors here..

Word or quote...
Someone carved his name and a heart on a wooden swing in a park nearby overlooking the water.  Often I see two people sitting and swinging slowly; it is old, has many other initials on it, and creaks loudly. I should have taken a picture of the entire swing which has two seats...the grass is beneath.  I enhanced this photo with textures..

Nature's own...
Many of us have bulbs sprouting up, some blossoming, and I do have  photos of hyacinths, crocus and snow drops, but I couldn't resist this snap of the nearby silver dollar plant with it's waxen seed pods taking in the sun..I don't know the scientific name for it.

People:..no one new in my camera this week.... I suppose if I had taken it to one of several places I went this week I would have more to offer...I saw many interesting faces and characters at the store, library and doctor offices..but this is a kaleidoscope featured effect on picnik.com and I was delighted to see my granddaughter's face,  and her friend's, mirrored a hundred times in the final saved version..it was fun playing.

Photographer's choice...
Last, but my no means least, is the close up or Macro shot I took of my friend's Spanish wall pocket planter containing this plant that looks like a string of peas, but it is called a?? vine...right on the tip of my tongue...it may get entered in Macro Monday tomorrow..the composition isn't quite what I want, though.  But I love the colorful little pot.

Thanks for stopping by the Eyrie Road.;)

Sensational Haiku Wednesday

For today the word prompt for writing a haiku over at Jenn's web-site is Nature...Haiku Wednesday

Nature's own wind chime
Angel hair falls from above
whistles a C sharp

Brushed by merry breeze
Tender divine rendezvous
blissful harmony
