Quadrille #31 - Stillness

Deer still move in light rain -
sounds of
breaking
twigs, falling raindrops,
moving leaves
A doe and two fawns
emerge from the forest
Ears up, blind look;
without a care,
they feed
ten yards from me.
I sneeze;
they freeze, snort,
bound
between trees

  3. Love the sight and the moment before the sneeze... Sometimes we can see deer in our garden from the windows.
