Deer still move in light rain -
sounds of
breaking
twigs, falling raindrops,
moving leaves
A doe and two fawns
emerge from the forest
Ears up, blind look;
without a care,
they feed
ten yards from me.
I sneeze;
they freeze, snort,
bound
between trees

I like the description of the deer moving in the rain and then taking shelter.
ReplyDeleteNice use of rhyme...it's lightly raining here and i can imagine the deer.
ReplyDeleteLove the sight and the moment before the sneeze... Sometimes we can see deer in our garden from the windows.
ReplyDeleteThis is a really evocative description, and I like how the sneeze tells a story.
