Intergalactic
In 1999 the poetic form called a Pleiades was invented, after the constellation. I didn't know - it can be defined as a seven line poem with each line beginning with the same letter as the title and having six syllables in each line. The title must be of one word only. dversepoets.com
Interspersed sparkling stars
individually
insight our most vivid
imaginations yet
Inky dark matter holds
inflated heavens weight
In truth the cosmos are
infinite in their wake
Inclinations persist
interplanetary
interactions exist
If life is recycled
in solar winds and dust,
indeed it inspires new
ideas poetic

perhaps that solar wind and dust will recycle what we have, what we are into something new eh? i like that turn to more philosophical science...pretty amazing to think in terms of the cosmos size as well..reminds us how small we are...
ReplyDeleteWow, this is a fantastic response to the prompt. Two stanzas is very ambitious and you aced them!
ReplyDeleteShut my mouth! Awesome...and Interplanetary for your 6 syllable line...well, I am inspired. Dang, and the rhymes too...OK, I am also in awe. Just good stuff. I have yet to write mine...I think I am done reading and heading off to try...
ReplyDeleteInfinite state, imaginations yet ~ I like this Kathy ~
ReplyDeleteBottom line, we are all Star Stuff.
ReplyDeleteLots to contemplate here, Kathy. I think somehow all of life is recycled! And, as Zongrik said, we are all star stuff.
ReplyDeleteOh well done and a double stanza at that. I really like your take on the prompt.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you played with the form and your images are fantastic!
ReplyDeletereally like the slant rhyme in weight and wake - this was nice, and the second stanza gave a good completeness
ReplyDeleteI like how you focus on the vastness of the universe.,incomprehensible maybe in its finite infiniteness ;-)
ReplyDeleteinfinity dazzles in poetic lines leaving endless possibilities...wonderful...
ReplyDeleteWe are born, we die and again reborn but i guess these planets remain the same with minimal modifications. Lovely response ti the prompt.
ReplyDeleteImaginative poetry with Impressive talent. Incredible!
ReplyDeleteIntricate interweaving of intellectual and imaginative.
ReplyDeleteno easy task here and you made it even longer... great challenge
ReplyDeleteI like the rhetorical question you present...poetically stated and love your title choice. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the letter "I" ... and all the fantastic "i" words in existence. So glad you chose to work with it. Great rhythm throughout, as well.
ReplyDeleteVery cool how you worked this through and really focused on the "stellar" aspects of the form.
ReplyDeleteOh- I like this very much! Loved the lines
ReplyDelete'Inclinations persist
interplanetary
interactions exist'
Well done!
Thank you all for your stopping by and your comments.
ReplyDeleteTwo stanza and both have so much to say..we as humans are amazed
ReplyDeleteat the stars and the universe.,recycling what was into something better
one hopes.
Awe inspiring! As is all of the cosmos...it is pretty amazing isn't it?
ReplyDeleteYou kicked some prompt butt, K.; took the time to do two stanzas. I try to be ready, checking on other time zones earlier in the day; but last week I had to email Claudia to get the scoop, so had to scramble to get one.
