Rain on my face saves me -
cucumber grass
cools my soles
..evening citrusy air
hangs
like lacy moss
on a myrtle tree
- angels walk among us
in everyday attire
Hearts bleed
for other hearts,
joints swell; bodies
writhe under
cascading water, rippling
along sullen earth
..turning my mind
to the great notion
........of flying
like a sparrow from
eaves to the sea
against sunset skies;
filling me up
with an obsessive desire
to receive
close up
giraffe's nuzzles,
wet baby kisses -
swim in cool
coconut milk, drink
lemon tea with bitters
and taste
the berries of summer...
