NaPoWriMo - Poem #6
Using words from what one sees outside one's window: list some nouns, some colors, a few verbs; put all together in a poem -
*grass, showers, trees, porch, primroses, pansies, coral bells, white, heart, wheelbarrow, sun, bark, heart, geraniums, spring, house, clouds
*green, pink, denim blue, white, salmon, periwinkle blue, mauve, red, brown
*mow, make, plant, meet, smother, drift, grow, , dress, trail, thaw, spread
COLORS SURROUNDING ME
Fine showers drift down
meet the freshly mowed grass, the misty green grove of cedar trees
means spring has arrived, albeit cautiously
Newly planted pink, yellow and red primroses
dot the pathway; blue denim pansies
take hold in dainty rows
On the porch, a small brown
wheelbarrow overflows with salmon pink
New Guinea impatience,
clumps of white bucopa,
Sweet geraniums smother the beds
that border the sides of my house
Bleeding heart and coral bells dressed
for viewing outside my bedroom window
Mauve helebores smiles in the corner patch
I plant periwinkle blue lobelia
to cascade from a future hanging basket,
Newly made bark from wood chipped is spread
Sun peeks hrough pewter clouds,
winter thaws, t
This view outside my picture window
warms and renew my heart

This is a beautiful, vibrant nearly-still-life! It seems that everyone's caught spring fever! I really enjoyed reading this.
